FAQ’s

Take a look at our FAQs below. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out to us.

Do you do piercings?

Unfortunately we don’t currently offer piercings.

Do you do walk - in appointments?

We are an appointment only studio, but we do sometimes have bookings available at short notice due to cancellation etc. To see if we have space on the day please ring the studio on 01234589601 after 10am.

How do I book an appointment?

We are a private studio so we ask all customers to contact us via email first so we can discuss their ideas and share reference images. When we know a bit more about the design, we can quote the tattoo or advise if a face-to-face consultation at the studio will be necessary. To book an appointment your artist will either arrange the date via email or advise you to contact the studio by phone on 01234589601, so we can go through the availability in their diary with you.

Can I book a consultation?

Although it’s often beneficial to do a face-to-face consultation at the studio we always ask for customers to contact us via email first so we can discuss the rough idea and see which of our artists would be best to book in with, they will then get back to you in person and arrange the consultation if needed.

Do you need a deposit to book an appointment?

Yes, all appointments need to be guaranteed with a deposit, if booking multiple sessions we only require one deposit that we then move to each subsequent appointment. Deposit amounts start from £50 but may be higher depending on the length of your booking. The deposit will come off the final price of the tattoo/off your last session.

What information do you need when enquiring about a tattoo?

If you would like to discuss a design, please could you let us know the following information about your tattoo:

-a brief description of the idea

-any reference images you have

-style (realistic/traditional etc)

-colour or black and grey

-placement

-approximate size in cm

-which artist you are looking to book with

How long is the waiting list?

Waiting times depend on which of our artists you are looking to book in with, some of our artists have availability within a week or two and some are taking bookings a few months in advance. If you would like to book in with a particular artists feel free to email us or ring the shop on 01234589601 and we can give you an idea on their schedule.

How old do I have to be and do I need ID?

It is against the law to tattoo anyone under the age of 18. Please don’t be offended if we ask you for photo ID as proof of age; we accept passports, driving licences, provisional licences and anything with a ‘PASS’ logo (e.g. citizen card). We do not accept parental signatures, birth certificates, student IDs etc.

How much do you charge for tattoos?

Our minimum charge is £70, and we charge £70/hour for larger pieces.

Can you draw a design for me if I just have an idea?

We are a custom studio so we’ll happily design your tattoo from scratch, although it’s a good idea to look at some refence images beforehand so we can visualise what you’re thinking, these can be paintings, illustrations, photos etc. It’s good to look at other tattoos for inspiration but we wouldn’t copy another artists work.

Do you copy artwork brought in by the customer?

We are a custom studio so we tend to redraw any designs brought in by the customer, this way we can make any alterations that are necessary for the design to look good in its particular placement on your skin. The artist may also change or simplify some lines so that the tattoo looks neater and ages better. We don’t copy other artists work without permission.

Can you copy handwriting, signatures, or sentimental drawings?

Yes we can, we would only suggest changing it slightly if the size or placement may affect how the tattoo heals.

Will I get the drawing beforehand?

No, we don’t do this largely because of copyright reasons and because our artists are all working on tight schedules. Your design will likely be ready the night before or the morning of your tattoo. When you come in for your appointment, your artist will get your approval for the design, and any changes that you want can be made then and there.

How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

-Avoid drinking alcohol on the day of, and the night before, your tattoo

-Make sure to have a substantial meal before your appointment

-It’s important to stay hydrated and keep your blood sugar up so you’re more than welcome to bring sweets and drinks in with you

-We advise wearing warm and comfortable clothing and bear in mind we’ll need access to the area being tattooed, we have privacy screens if necessary

-Make sure to set aside enough time for your appointment, tattoos can sometimes go over the estimated time so we advise paying for an extra hour or two of parking and not planning anything for immediately after your booking

Can I bring someone with me when I get tattooed?

Ideally we’d prefer it if you came alone, due to the limited space in the studio we normally don’t have room available for someone to sit with you during your appointment. If you suffer from anxiety or require someone to be with you please let us know when you book your appointment so we can work out how best to accommodate your needs.

Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

No, although the chances of complications are very slim we won’t tattoo customers who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can I get tattooed if I am on medication or have a medical condition?

Please speak to your tattooist if you are on any medication, have medical conditions, or if you have any allergies as they may need to take these into account when tattooing you. We are not medical professionals and will often advise you to speak to your GP or consultant if you are unsure if your medication or medical conditions would affect either getting the tattoo or the healing process.

Where is the closest place to park?

The studio is situated in the heart of Bedford Town centre so there’s multiple carparks only a short walk from us, please see the map on our home page for more information.

What is your cancelation policy?

Appointments can be cancelled or rearranged up to 14 days before the booking date, if you cannot make your appointment and give us less than 14 days notice you may lose your deposit. If you need to cancel or postpone within 14 days we will make every effort to refill the space in the diary, if we are able to fill the space then you will be able to rebook and keep your original booking fee. For this reason the more notice you give us the better!

What is your recommended aftercare?

-Always wash & dry your hands before and after touching your new tattoo.

-Leave your tattoo covered for 1-2 hours, then remove the covering and gently wash the

tattoo with lukewarm water and mild unscented liquid soap (e.g. Carex).

-Pat dry with kitchen towel or leave to air dry naturally.

-When fully dry, apply a thin layer of an unscented moisturising cream such as Bepanthen.

-You will be advised whether or not to re-cover your tattoo by your tattooist.

-Repeat the cleaning process 3-4 times a day for the first 3 days then 2-3 times a day

for around two weeks.

– Shower rather than bathe while the tattoo is healing and don’t soak the skin, also avoid saunas and steam rooms

-Do not pick or scratch your tattoo as this will delay the healing and possibly damage

the final piece

-When healed avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, make sure to use a high SPF.

-Always keep a new tattoo covered and protected if working in a dirty/dusty/oily

environment

-Make sure the tattoo is kept well moisturised and clean for a few months after it is

finally healed.
